Marlborough New Zealand. Huia Blanc de Blancs displays an excellent fine bead and good bubble retention. The nose shows lovely bready and biscuity characters with an underlying toastiness. The palate is rich in peach fruit with ripe citrus flavours. There is a delicate creaminess ending with a long elegant dry finish.

Marlborough New Zealand. On the nose the wine shows spice, violets, vanilla and dark cherry. The palate is rich and full with plum and dark cherry alongside hints of smoke, spice and savoury notes. The French oak imparts a gentle vanilla pod flavour and the silky but firm grape tannins are well integrated. The wine has great balance, length and structure and will age well...

Mosel, Germany. The 2019 version delivers a quite attractive scent of anise and ginger as well as white fruits and banana. The feel on the palate is firm and powerful, yet racy and focused. The firm acidity (it does hit 9 g/l) frames the finish. This is a very nice wine made in a forceful style...

Barossa Valley, South Australia. Clarry’s is bright purple-black in colour. It is very lifted with aromas of dark rose perfume, cherries, fruit cake, musk, raspberries, milk chocolate and spice. The palate is very juicy and packed with dense flavours of bright red and black fruits. Full flavoured, round and harmonious, natural chalky tannins add structure and texture. Limited maturation in seasoned barrels has added complexity while respecting the fruit purity that is the hallmark of this wine. Clarry’s is solid with enough power but under control giving good balance. It is a mouth filling wine that is completed by a very lengthy finish. This is an approachable, fruit-driven and opulent wine that is best enjoyed now or over the next five years...

Barossa Valley, South Australia. Eduard Shiraz is deep purple-black in colour. Immediately evoking a serious wine, the aroma is intense and lifted with prominent dark fruit, nutmeg, black cherry, fruit cake and chocolate. The palate is full bodied and concentrated. Generous and mouthfilling flavours of pristine black fruits dominate together with subtle barrel ferment complexities. Tannins are solid but polished adding a muscular structure. This is a very layered wine, with intensity, complexity and detail. Densely packed, Eduard is completed by a dry lingering finish. This is a sophisticated wine of the highest calibre and is worthy of cellaring for many years...

Barossa Valley, South Australia. Greenock Shiraz is deep purple-black in colour. Bright and lifted, the bouquet displays characters of blackberry, cherry, fruit cake, ripe plum, mocha and oriental spice. These ripe black fruit flavours continue to the powerfully flavoured full-bodied palate. Driven by intense fruit purity, the palate is complimented with subtle oak barrel characters. The natural tannins are lightly chalky but fine adding structure to support the strong fruit. With layers of complexity this is a very pure but sophisticated wine of great balance that is completed by a solid lingering finish. Greenock is a complex Barossa Shiraz that has a long cellaring future...
