Bordeaux, France.  Perfumed dried herb, almost like lavender, red fruits, earthiness. Medium bodied showing attractive balanced acid and light chewy grip with some stony/graphite like character and a clean finish. Not very long, admittedly, but satisfactory. Typical style, good vintage and a thoroughly enjoyable drink. Pretty much spot on at the price point.

Tuscany, Italy. This artisanal, limited-release wine is made from selected estate-grown handpicked grapes (85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot) which are fermented separately in concrete vats, with maceration on the skins for 15 days. The wines are then aged separately for 12 months in French oak, the Sangiovese in medium size oak casks and the Merlot in smaller barrels. After blending, the wine undergoes an additional 12 months bottle ageing before release...

Somontano, Spain.  The wine displays violet hues that bring to mind the harvest, grapes and youthfulness. Reminders of the harvest and of must fermenting in the tank come through again on the nose along with ripe red and black fruits and very fresh, clean aromas too. Northern Rhone, France.  The grapes are 100% destemmed. After a few days of cold maceration, fermentation starts naturally. The tanks are pumped over morning and evening with carbon dioxide saturation. Vinification lasts 3 weeks. The wine is matured 3 months in tank and 9 months in barrel...

Mulberry and dark chocolate plushness come through upfront. It tastes and feels like a classic SW WA example, but with a bit more jubey fruit and less dried herbs than some. The finish shows some fine, but gravelly/mineral tannins...
