Waiheke Island, New Zealand. The 2021 Valhalla Chardonnay shows complex savoury aromas supported by quality oak and typical fruit characters found at the ripe end of the Chardonnay flavour spectrum; grapefruit and marmalade characters with hints of apricot characters derived from a small amount of noble berries in the bunches. The palate has good weight balanced with vibrant acidity and quinine like freshness on the finish. A savoury complex wine that will reward time in the glass to open up or similarly time in the cellar to become perfectly integrated...

 

Central Otago, New Zealand. A rich, voluptuous Pinot Gris, driven by its wonderfully rich fruit flavours rather than residual sweetness. A vibrant entry to the palate is followed by honeysuckle and poached pear flavours layering the rich, viscous mid palate. The wine finishes crisp and dry with long appley acidity and flavours which balance the wine nicely...

Gisborne, New Zealand. A bright fruited, expressive nose with notes of dark cherry, juniper berry and fine burnished leather, yet with a subtle hint of roses. Savoury touches add complexity to the svelte palate and the taste is firm and alert with a lively mineral edge to balance. To soften the mouth-feel this wine has been fined with our own free-range egg whites, the yokes going to the kitchen for other culinary use...

Gisborne, New Zealand. With aromas of fresh lime zest and fragrant gardenias, this wine is softened by a natural malo-lactic fermentation which gives warmth and deliciousness to the taste. The wine will mature over a long time, yet now has flavours of fine wool and bush honey including quince and ripe bouche pear with a long tingling aftertaste...
