Colour: Deep garnet, has lost its purple youthfulness though still deep in colour.
It has also thrown a crust so careful decanting although not essential will enhance the experience.
Bouquet: Blackberry, black olive fruit and charred oak at first. Just hints of Coonawarra mint but obvious stalk and cassis, both quintessential Cabernet characters. Looking complex with dark chocolate and cedar like complexity. Decanting will also help lift the bouquet.
Palate: Full of ripe berry notes on a sweet oak background. Black currant and bramble at the front then mocha and chocolate from the oak. The structure is long with fine grained tannins giving a dry but moorish finish.
