Jo Marsh is not a box ticker. She embraces every task with great expectation and seeks out the path less travelled. With a focus on alternate varietals, Jo produces an astounding array of wines, which, including cellar door only wines, comprises over 20 different varietals, some in miniscule quantities. Working closely with local growers, Jo has helped to breathe new life into this tiny wine region, and shine a light on the breadth and depth of the grape varietal variation that we have in Australia. Jo follows no rule book, she believes in doing what’s best for the wine, polishing and perfecting, highlighting the fruit and sculpting the palate so the wine flows through the mouth with texture and interest.
Pinot Blanc originates from the Alsace region of France and is also extensively grown in North-eastern Italy where it is known as Pinot Bianco. It is a colour mutation of Pinot Gris first reported in Burgundy in the late 1890’s. Pinot Blanc is exceedingly rare in Australia and only one small parcel is grown in the Alpine Valleys at the Mulcahy Vineyard at the foot of Mount Buffalo in Porepunkah.

Production Notes
Once pressed, settled and racked, the fermentation was undertaken with a selected strain of complexing yeast that respects the inherent fruit profile of the grapes. The wine was matured in tank with its yeast lees until clarification just prior to bottling in June 2023.

Reviews
"Doesn't try to be anything other than delicious. Aromatics to the fore – spring blossom, honeysuckle – in league with citrus, hay, pear and a delightful, discreet spiciness. The palate carries a gentle, rounded mouthfeel enlivened by bright acidity." Awarded 89 points, Halliday Wine Companion, Jeni Port - Published 05 March 2024
