2021 ‘Left Bank’ Clutha Chardonnay - 94 points
"Perfectly poised chardonnay with vanilla, peach, hazelnut, and spicy oak flavours. Appealing purity and restrained power with a suggestion of oyster shell mineral character.”
Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review
Domaine Thomson began in 2000 when David and PM Hall-Jones purchased their block in Central Otago, naming it after David’s great great grandfather "Surveyor Thomson” who explored and mapped Central Otago in the 1850’s. The pair immediatley began to plant the first vineyards with a mixure of Davis and Dijon Pinot Noir clones inspired by their mutual love for Burgundy. Under guidance from their fantastic vineyard manager Simon Gourley, they converted to organics and biodynamics and have been fully certified with Bio-Gro since 2014.
