Tasting Notes
APPEARANCE
To the eye, the wine is coloured - crimson at first then, with age, shading towards red ruby.
AROMA
To the nose, it offers at a basket of small red and black fruits (strawberry, cherry) with nice freshness notes.
PALATE
It is lively and structured in the mouth with a well-rounded and supple backbone. Tannins and fruit go hand in hand and match the power of the secondary aromas. This wine has volume and flesh.
The Roux family has been producing wine in Saint-Aubin since 1885. Fifth generation, Mathieu and Sébastien, commenced in the family business in 2003, focusing on the Domaine wines, bringing back to life numerous forgotten lieux-dits plus new acquisitions in Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today the Domaine extends over 70 hectares, and attention to detail is scrupulous. Vinification is strictly by site selection with limited additions in both the vineyard and the winery, to protect the origins and terroir of the fruit for the purest possible expression.
