AROMA
This riesling is being fresh, bright and aromatic. There are white flowers, gooseberries, talc and slate.
PALATE
Great lemons and limes, with a lingering acid back bone. The vibrancy of the palate has you salivating for more. A wine which will go the distance now and in time.
This year, the No.4 was made from the same vineyards as previous, being the growers Zander, Mason and Tscharke. However in 2019, we also had Zanders ‘Old Quarry’ block be part of the blend. This vineyards contains a lot of sandstone and some blue stone. The grape flavours showing refinement.
Rieslingfreak is the inspiration of John Hughes, a man who is very passionate about his rieslings. The first vintage of the brand was in 2009, with a single vineyard Clare Valley Riesling. Since then, the label has expanded to include Eden Valley and Polish Hill River regions.
