Mad Fish Shiraz 2020
The MadFish Shiraz is an opulent, full-bodied wine with excellent concentrated fruit flavours and soft approachable palate. It will drink well now and will develop complex aging characters of rich earth, leather and forest floor over the next 5 years.
Shiraz has distinct identities in its Australian home – the wines of Barossa, McLaren Vale, Hunter Valley, Great Southern and Margaret River all express different stories. The MadFish Shiraz shows the Southwestern version of the grape in classic, juicy style – fruit-forward, plush, and downright delicious!
Tasting Notes
The 2020 MadFish Shiraz displays all the strengths and beneficial flavour characteristics common to the regions which comprise the blend. Vibrant, ripe and alluring raspberry, cherry and blackberry aromas are beautifully complemented by subtle vanilla and baking spice accents, and all these elements flow through to the palate where they mingle with gentle mocha and cinnamon notes. The mouthfeel is silky soft yet with sufficient tannin grip to retain flavour on the mid-palate and provide a pleasant lingering aftertaste of pure Shiraz satisfaction.
