Arnaud Baillot, Burgundy

Located in Beaune, the heart of the Côte d’Or. Owner and winemaker, Arnaud Baillot, now presents his third vintage of limited edition Burgundy crus.

Passionate about the diversity of wines the Burgundy region has to offer, Arnaud has teamed up with his wife Laure (grandaughter of Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Chambolle-Musigny) to produce a spectacular range of villages and crus Burgundy wines. Arnaud has been hands-on all along the way, selecting the origin of the grapes, overviewing the winemaking process, choosing the type of barrels and ageing time for each individual wine. In 2017, Arnaud and Laure acquired a small vineyard in Côte de Beaune, making their first step in having their own Estate produced wines at Domaine Arnaud Baillot. Their philosophy is to respect and promote the complexity of the Burgundy wine region while producing terroir driven wines.

Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes 2020

The Nuits-Saint-Georges wines are produced in two villages: Nuits-Saint-Georges and Premeaux-Prissey. The soils are basically composed of limestone and marl. A perfect exposure to the east gives the capacity to produce splendid wines. The ‘Aux Boudots’ vineyard borders the Premier Cru vineyards of Vosne Romanée, at the northern edge of the Nuits Saint Georges appellation.

Review

"This small-production, richly concentrated wine has a dense texture and firm tannins. It is full of ripe berries laced with spice from wood aging and with some good aging potential. Drink this fruity, structured wine from 2020.”
Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, January 2018
