PINTO, Patagonia, Argentina
Pinto horses, which have distinctive coats comprised of large patches, were among the various breeds of horses brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors. Pintos have subsequently become an important part of Argentine Goucho, or cowboy, culture. The vast Patagonian grasslands, once home to the Gouchos, are today producing world-class Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
"The enticingly savoury, medium-bodied Pinot Noir from Pinto winemakers is a prime example of the flavour heights that Argentinian Pinot Noir reaches. With vineyards in the rich, fertile Patagonia region, the grapes are treated to the mineral rich, glacial waters that melt down from the snowy Patagonian Mountains. The result is an incredibly complex flavour, with mineral notes that engage and excite."
