The Clover Pinot Noir Chardonnay is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay. A warm, even ripening period during the vintage gave seasonal characters of bright violets and rose petal seen in this wine.
Pinot Noir provides a floral lift of strawberry, cherry and violet characters on the front palate whilst Chardonnay adds length and enhances the crisp apple and citrus finish. A very fine, persistent bead and dryness leaves you wanting another glass.
In 1890, Amos William Howard discovered subterranean clover thriving naturally in a picturesque valley in the Adelaide Hills. Howard Vineyard’s stone barn Cellar Door and premium red vineyard are located in Nairne, on the site of this original farm. Subterranean clover continues to grow at this site, restoring Nitrogen and ensuring the health and quality of the soil in this spectacular vineyard. 30km away, our high altitude (470m), cool climate white vineyard at Schoenthal ("Beautiful Valley” in German) is one of the Adelaide Hill’s finest sites.
