Domaine Peyrol, Cotes de Provence
The Breban company is one of the last family owned company producing artisanal sparkling wines in the South of France. The grand-father, Raymond, started elaborating sparkling wine in his garage in 1942. He has then decided to add a full range of wines from Provence. Since that time, two generation have been managing the company with the same passion and philosophy for quality. Today, they are famous in France and all over the world for the quality of the wines of Provence and for their premium hand crafted sparkling wines.
50 % Grenache-45 % Cinsault - 5% de syrah
Located near Collobriéres in the hearth of "Massif des Maures" in the department of Var. The vineyard is lying on south facing slopes on a mica schist soil. The name "Peyrol" means in "provencal" a big container for a traditional crushing of grapes by foot. The harvest takes place in the early morning, to preserve grapes from the heat of the day and prevent the excessive oxidization of the berries. Direct pressing.
Fermentation at 59 °F. No ageing.
Tasting Notes
Pale pink robe with brilliant hints. The nose has characteristic notes of citrus fruit and tropical fruit; a refreshing mouth.
Serve at a temperature of 46° to 50° F.
It goes well with salads, Provencal dishes.
