Dark purple red in colour. Classic cabernet nose of blackcurrant, redcurrants and subtle leaf nuance. Time reveals cedar and polished wood plus violet like florals.
The palate is medium bodied and savoury with blue and black fruits laced through fine emery-like tannins. The balanced acidity adds length, line and pleasing sense of refreshment that makes you return for more.
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – fermentation on skins with twice daily pump-overs for three weeks followed by a 17 month maturation in 225 litre French oak barrels.
Local Vineyard Series
The Yarra Valley has three distinct geographic zones or sub-regions - lower warmer, middle cool and higher cooler sub-regions. We have matched particular varieties with the specific sites to give you outstanding examples of single vineyard wines.
Selection
This wine was sourced from the north facing Oakridge vineyard sited in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream.
