This Shiraz has wonderful aromatics of savoury blackfruits alongside a saline minerality. The palate shows a great tension between richness and freshness. Black and blue fruits, hints of red and black liquorice, earthy spice and cherry. Under it all is some savoury earth, silty fine tannin, a little salinity and acid keeping the whole package fresh.
"Our everyday shiraz, the majority of which is sourced from a vineyard that used to be the heart of Rosemount's Super Premium Balmoral Shiraz, now 65 year old dry grown, situated in the heart of Blewitt Springs. All hand picked, cold soaked for 2 days, and fermented in open vats with hand plunging before racking to old large oak. We have also blended about 5% of our Blewitt Springs Mataro into this wine for fragrance and lift."
