Vinification
A percentage of the grapes were handpicked and whole bunch pressed, with about 20% seeing French oak, the majority well-seasoned. A small percentage worked through malo with a substantial amount of battonage to build mouth feel. The nose has ripe stonefruit, melon and lemon; the palate has more white nectarine pith and a citrus twist.
Maturation
Partial malolactic fermentation was followed by 11 months ageing in 25% new and seasoned French barrels followed by light filtration before bottling.
Appearance
Golden straw.
Aroma
A complex nose with layers of stone fruit, mingling with brioche.
Palate
The palate is full-bodied and richly textured with fleshy stonefruit. This is an elegant chardonnay with a lingering, lively finish.
