This is a vibrant blend of approximately 62% Shiraz and 38% Grenache from some special little pockets amongst our vineyards. The Shiraz was selected from the ‘Gateway' and ‘Jones Block’ vineyards, renowned for producing some of the best fruit in the region. These select parcels were blended with complimentary Grenache to create a wine that is engaging to a wide range of drinkers.
VARIETY: 65% Shiraz, 35% Grenache
COLOUR: Vibrant red with purple hues
BOUQUET: Soft and delicate aromas with hints of lavender and plums integrating gently with savoury French oak characters.
PALATE: Generous and juicy, with a silky mouth-feel. Packed full of dark berry fruits and finishing with soft tannins.
CELLARING: Enjoy upon release, or cellaring for 8-10 years from vintage will be justly rewarded.
VINIFICATION: Harvested at the optimum ripeness for this wine style, the Shiraz fruit was blended from five premium parcels, the Grenache from three. All were fermented separately, using both open and closed fermenters with careful monitoring. Once pressed, the wine was matured in approx. 50% American and 50% French oak barriques (225L) (approximately 15% new, 85% 1, 2 year and older oak barrels) for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.
