Great aroma intensity; Distinctively Cabernet; Refined, elegant; Plums, blackberries, dark cherry, bramble, white pepper; Leather, Thai herbs, coriander, thyme, spice and cigar.
Vineyards:
The parcels of wine in the The Maitre D’ come from the McLaren Vale grapes grown on the ancient red soils of our Coppermine Road block and the deep dark soils of our Long Gully Road block. They give richness and substance. We then added the exquisitely fragrant Cabernet we made from
Darren and Belinda Joppich’s block in Langhorne Creek. All blocks are sustainably grown.
Winery Report:
The bulk of our fruit came in in April, possessing great colour and depth, and the Fruit Weights looked impressive from the get go. The reds went through primary and malolactic fermentation and barrel maturation in record time. The resulting 2016 wines are amazing.

Tasting Notes:
This Cabernet Sauvignon is both complex and alluring upon first tasting its dark fruit and fresh herbaceous qualities. Well balanced with dense forest fruits and fresh berries evolving with the crispness of allspice. Its poised tannins create a wonderful support to the wine while not distracting from its intriguing flavour.
