Attractive dark medium colour with hints of purple.
AROMA
The nose features attractive spice, dark varietal pepper and ripe fruit supported by toasty, nutty oak.
PALATE
The palate is medium bodied with a combination of ripe dark plum fruit supported by attractive vanillin oak characters from 22 months in selected new American and French Oak. Whilst rich in texture with complex flavours a feature of the wine is its outstanding integration.
Coonawarra is renowned for its remarkable ‘terra rossa’ soil, a thin metre band of soil over laying a deep formation of limestone. The Zema family is proudly traditional in its approach to vineyard practices, favouring hand pruning and limited irrigation to maximise fruit quality. These practices are enhanced by the family’s three strategically selected prime vineyard locations, capitalising on the regions subtle climatic variations.
