Torzi Matthews, a food and wine making partnership between Domenic Torzi and Tracy Matthews have passion and the firm conviction of appreciating the value of heritage tradition in the crafting of their wines and olive produce. Proud owners of a small grape yard located in the beautiful Mt McKenzie, Barossa for where its land produces low yields of fruit that translate flavoursome European style wines – the style of wines needed to match their Mediterranean food.
Estate single vineyard wine grown in the chilly surrounds of Mount McKenzie in the Eden Valley. Planted 8 years ago only for the production of roasato (rose) which borders our Shiraz plantings.
Hand picked and destemmed into 500kg casks for 4 hours then basket pressed to seasoned French oak for natural fermentation for 3 weeks and a further 8 months maturation before racking and natural cold settling before bottling.
Harvest produced a beautifully complex, fine & dry rosato with flavours & aromatics of rose petals, pomegranate, white cherries and strawberries all combining bright lingering flavours, crunchy & textural finishing with cleansing fruit acidity.
