Harcourt Valley, Central Victoria. Made by BlackJack from Cabernet and Shiraz grapes grown at Blackjack Vineyards and another local Harcourt vineyard.
WINERY: Fermentation took place in traditional open fermenters, with hand-plunging of the cap ensuring complete but gentle extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was matured in a mixture of new , two and-three-year-old French and American oak barriques.
TASTING NOTES
Again, another Chortle's that arguably over delivers at its price point.
Medium to brick red in colour . The aroma is redolent with cherry and red currant, with a hint of mint in the background.
Elegant mid weight palate with clean vibrant fruit flavours on the palate.
The description of a Monday to Thursday wine undersells it!
Cellaring: Although this wine is made for drinking in the short term , it will, under appropriate conditions, benefit from cellaring for two to three years or more.
