FIVE GEESE WINES, McLAREN VALE SA
Sue Trott is dedicated to her Five Geese wines, which come from vines planted in 1927 & 1965. Mainly Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache & Mataro. After on selling the fruit for many years, in 1999, she decided to create her own label and make small parcels from hand picked vines, which are run on Organic principles.
Nero d'Avola 2016
Colour: Brilliant cherry – red colour; bright and attractive.
Nose: Savoury bouquet, perfumed with dark maraschino cherry, quince paste, very subtle smoky oak complexity.
Palate: Elegant medium bodied, with a good line of acidity and a clean finish. Lingering ripe cherry flavour balanced by distinct but gentle tannins.
Oak: 10 months in French oak barrels.
Fermentation: Portion whole bunch fermentation.
