The Inca earth goddess who brings fruit to the vine and joy to the world. PachaMama, is a small family owned wine company established in 2010. Whilst new to the market, it’s new in name only. Made by Pacha’s new wine making duo Nina Stocker and Callie Jemmeson, these wines are a knockout.
Pacha Mama Shiraz enfolds you in her arms. It's elegant. It's got finesse. In the glass its medium to dark ruby in colour, with a complex nose of mulberries and blood plums backed with earth and spice. She’s soft and fleshy and full of all the good dark fruits; plum and mulberry. It's seamless in the mouth with juicy fruit favours on the palate. A light tannic structure, vibrant acid and a long savoury finish.
Colour: Deep black red.
Nose: Powerful and oozing with brooding dark fruits; mulberries, black cherries and blood plums, all backed by earth and spice.
Palate: Soft and fleshy, with warm berry compote, dark chocolate and black cherry. A juicy palate with a velvet underlay and silky tannins, balanced by a long, savoury finish.
Food Match: This shiraz screams out for food. If your local IGA doesn’t stock guanaco tartare, and chinchillas are out of season, a spice encrusted roast lamb, Osso Bucco or hearty Italian pasta.
