Miles From Nowhere is all about a passion for winemaking. This passion drove us to want to make our own wine. So one by one we gathered precious little pockets of exceptional land and vineyards, scattered across the Margaret River region of Western Australia and based our winemaking on a property in Cowaramup.
Miles From Nowhere vineyards display excellent and unique fruit. From old vines to steep slopes, loamy soils to deep gravel, open fields nestled among the gum trees, our vineyards are as diverse as they are isolated from each other – each creating the perfect drop. The greatest discoveries are often made by getting off the beaten track and being happy to just ‘get lost’ for a while. We wouldn’t have it any other way and are very proud to be just what we are; Miles From Nowhere.

Winemaking notes: The fruit for this wine comes from Northern Margaret River around the Carbunup, Treeton and Wilyabrup sub-regions. Yeast strain isolated from France which enhances flavour, aroma and complexity. Techniques employed to achieve ideal colour and flavour extraction. Batches of Cabernet were allowed to go through short period of extended maceration, to soften fruit tannins. Fermented in stainless steel with a percentage in small French oak. Oak: Predominantly French, showing chocolate and cedar characters Cellaring: Enjoy now or cellar for 5 -8 years.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Vibrant ruby red. Nose: This wine displays aromas of dark plums, blackcurrant in combination with subtle mint, sweet sage and milk chocolate. Palate: Good fruit intensity of blackcurrant Cabernet character with hints of sweet mint, combined with the juicy dark plum character from the Merlot, with balanced acidity and attractive tannin structure, giving palate length and will allow graceful aging.
Food Pairing: Medium rare Scotch Fillet, on a bed of mash with spring fresh asparagus spears
