Immich-Batterieberg
Gernot Kollmann is the man at Immich-Batteriberg, formerly at Van Volxem and Knebel among others, to run the property and to vinify the wines. Coincidentally, Gernot had a strong interest in Immich-Batterieberg years before and even sought investors for this oncerenowned estate but to no avail. Since taking over, Gernot’s first two vintages have been an enormous success.
Tasting Notes
The 2017 version delivers a quite attractive scent of anise and ginger as well as white fruits and banana. The feel on the palate is firm and powerful, yet racy and focused. The firm acidity (it does hit 9 g/l) frames the finish. This is a very nice wine made in a forceful style.
