Antica Distilleria Domenico Sibona
The Antica Distilleria Domenico Sibona S.p.A is the oldest historical distillery in the Piemonte region. Most Grappas from Italy are made from a blend of grape varieties, but Sibona is unique as they specialise in outstanding quality grappa’s made with only a single grape variety like Grappa Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Arneis, Brachetto and Moscato. The distillation process consists of vapour production from fresh grapes soon after their arrival in the distillery, which allows the extraction of the unique flavour of the grapes’ full aroma. After distillation, grappa is stored in glass bottles for approx. six months before it is made available for sale. The flavour profile of Grappa depends on the grape variety used.
Traditionally, Grappa is served chilled in small tulip glass and served after a meal, as the Italians believe that it aids digestion. Grappa can be added to espresso to make a "Caffe Corretto”, or serve it on the rocks with a slice of orange and a sprig of mint. It is great as an aperitif and compliments well dark chocolate and cigars after dinner. Over the years, Sibona Grappa has won many medals from the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Awards. This recognition confirms that Sibona products are among the best, not only in Italy but also internationally and supports the business philosophy - their love and passion for distillation and the utmost attention to quality.
