Thomas Wines
Thomas Wines is not only one of the Hunter Valley’s most renowned winemakers, but nationally and internationally acclaimed for it’s exceptional, single vineyard Hunter Valley wines. Thomas wines have gained somewhat of a ‘cult status’ for its small range of personality imbued wines, many of which offer both pure current drinking pleasure, as well as remarkable cellaring potential.

Winemakers Comments

Hunter Valley semillon is one of the worlds most uniquely regional wine styles. This vineyard, situated on a sandy/loam strip along Oakey Creek Road, Pokolbin (hence, The O.C.), was planted in 1976. The fruit is allowed to ripen more fully than our traditional styles, producing a more generously flavoured, contemporary style of Hunter Semillon.

It was hand picked in perfect condition on the 5th of February, whole bunch pressed and fermented in stainless steel. The riper fruit and slightly gentler natural acidity have produced a ‘user-friendly’ style that will provide excellent current drinking, as well as medium term cellaring potential. Move over sauvignon blanc…!
