Monte Tondo Mito Soave DOC 2023

Monte Tondo Mito Soave DOC 2023
Soave, Italy. Vibrant, light and fresh, this wine is as expressive as they get. Loosely translated, ‘mito’ means small, and in this context, it refers to this wine as being the baby of the Monte Tondo family, nurtured and made with love. It sings of ripe citrus, fleshy pear, pineapple and fresh white flowers. An endearing example of the beauty of youth. It’s bone dry and can be enjoyed all on its own...

Monte Tondo
The Monte Tondo vineyard can be found nestling in the gentle hills of Soave just a few kilometres from Verona on a slope overlooking the valley. Third generation Gino Magnabosco, together with his family, carry on their passion for the land, and the traditions which have handed down. Like skilled craftsmen, they carefully and conscientiously follow all the production phases: from the wine to the bottle, attentive to new improvements in grape-producing technology at all times.

Twenty-five hectares of vineyards are situated on the best plots that the Soave zone can offer: Monte Tenda, Monte Foscarino and Monte Tondo, from which the vineyard takes its name, ensure that the wine produced is intensely perfumed with an unmistakable Soave character somewhere between florals and fruitiness.

The cultivation of the vines is guyot style on well-drained volcanic soils, which allow the grapes, mainly Garganega and Trebbiano of Soave, to grow to their best advantage.

The hand-harvest usually occurs during the last week of September. After a soft pressing, the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks (16-18C). the wine remains in tank until January when it is bottled and rested briefly before release, under screwcap for the first time with the 2011 vintage.
