Bellvale Estate
Gippsland, Victoria. Established in 1998, Bellvale Wine is a family-owned business run by principal winemaker and viticulturalist, John Ellis. Situated in the lush Tarwin River valley of South Gippsland, the area is acknowledged as one of Australia’s best Pinot-Noir producing regions. This is reflected in Bellvale’s numerous international and national awards over the last decade.
The cool, moist Gippsland climate perfectly suits Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
The colour is clear, bright ruby, with hints of garnet at the rim. The nose displays up-front aromas of raspberries, wild strawberries and orange peel give way to a complex bouquet showing damp earth, cedar and notes of subtle, spicy oak. On the palate this wine has a soft, velvety mouthfeel with fresh, balanced acidity, fine-grained tannins and a long finish. The wine is showing great complexity and will drink well now and over the next 6 years.
