Gippsland, Victoria. Bellvales newest wine
is the Bellvale Pinot Grigio. Planted in 2008 and not often grown in
South Gippsland, but John Ellis felt it was perfectly suited to his cool
climate location and it’s five acre vineyard that sits atop a hill
looking towards Wilson’s Prom.
He was after a wine with more
substance than many he had tried, chasing the elusive character, stone
fruit, pear and subtlety. He says this one now shows an aroma and fruit
expression and ultimately a freshness that makes it unique to the
region.
