Jed Wines
Each year, Jed's wine making team travel to the Uco Valley in Argentina to produce wines that express the unique characters of this acclaimed region. With combined wine making experience in Australia, France, North and South America, Jed's three young Australian winemakers have travelled the worlds wine regions in search of ideal vineyard sites. This search led the trio to the Uco Valley in Mendoza (Argentina), one of the world's true frontier wine regions.
Mendoza has an extraordinary 450 years of wine making history, however, only in the last 10 years has the Uco Valley emerged as one of the world's most exciting wine producing regions. Situated in the foothills of the Andes at 1200 meters above sea level, the pristine environment in the Uco Valley yields elegant wines with unrivaled purity.
Tasting Notes
Appearance Bright ruby red with a hint of violet.
Nose Rose water and violet characters are underpinned by red berry aromas of sweet cherry and fresh blue berries.
Palate Bright cherry and blueberry flavours carry onto the palate and combine with well integrated oak. The mouth feel is fine and delicate, supported by fine ripe tannins. Medium bodied in style with an elegant finish.
Notes
Mendoza is famous for producing the world finest Malbec. While wine has been made in Mendoza for over 400 years, only recently, have the higher and cooler vineyard sights in the Uco Valley been identified as some of the best. The cooler climate fosters the development of the bright cherry flavours in this wine and provides a fine tannin structure.
