Pimpernel Vineyards is a family business, and the realisation of our long held dream to develop an iconic Yarra Valley vineyard, capable of producing outstanding individual wines.
Their philosophy is simple – marry a great site with the best varieties and clones. Dry land cultivation techniques produce intensely flavoured wines which fully express the site and its climate. To ensure the best results viticulture is carried out by hand – cane pruning, shoot thinning, canopy management and selective harvesting allow Pimpernel to respond optimally to the nuances of each vintage
The ’18 Shiraz has an exotic perfume with lifted berry fruit characters, subtle spicy oak and a hint of cinnamon. The colour is vibrant deep red and the mouth feel is velvety. The palate is rich and driven by red fruit, damson and plum characters with a finish dominated by natural acidity and supple tannins.
