COULTHARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Cabernet has a very long history in Langhorne Creek and is one of the original red varietals used to establish the region. This fruit was grown on ancient, heavy alluvial flood plain soil, traditional to Langhorne Creek.
Coulthard Cabernet Sauvignon shows the pure varietal expression of the best of Langhorne Creek Cabernet. The wine displays lifted berry and spice aromas, with a fleshy full-bodied palate showing elegant dark fruit and earthy notes supported by the fine textural tannins.
Individual Cabernet parcels were fermented separately in small open fermenters to allow excellent extraction of colour and flavour. Each batch was matured in a combination of new and older French and American oak barriques for 18 months. The best individual parcels were selected to create the Coulthard Cabernet Sauvignon.
