Adriano Ramos Pinto founded the house in 1880 and the excellent quality of the wines soon gained recognition on the export market. Adriano’s business foresight made him something of a pioneer in the Port market whereby he supported the promotion of his wines with a quality advertising campaign based on posters designed by some of the most famous artists of his time.
This is the sweetest of all Port wines and contains around 140 grams of sugar per litre.
VINIFICATION
The grapes come from regions where a high degree of ripeness is achieved. They are subjected to intense skin maceration in accordance with the old Port wine tradition.
TASTING NOTES
Predominantly golden colour. Within its characteristic fruit and sweetness, floral aromas of chamomile and orange blossom stand out with hints of honey. It has a light palate with flavours of glycerine and ripe fruit surrounded by an intense freshness. A fat, persistent finish with a pleasant touch of honey.
GASTRONOMY & STORAGE
Ideal as an aperitif, it goes very well with pâtê de foie gras, a starter, grilled squid salad in a vinaigrette dressing or a dessert. Serve chilled, between 8° and 10°C. Store the bottle upright, in a cool, dry and dark place.
