Paringa Estate
Lindsay McCall’s winemaking legacy began in 1984 with the purchase of a 10 acre derelict orchard. Subsequently, access to a further 45 acres of vineyards has increased the estate’s source of quality fruit. Having received numerous awards over the years, Lindsay’s hard work culminated in 2007 with Paringa Estate being awarded James Halliday’s ‘Winery of the Year’.
WINEMAKING
In the winery, berries were de-stemmed and fermented in two-tonne open fermenters. Maturation took place over the next 18 months in French Oak barrels, 30% being new.
TASTING NOTES
A classic Paringa Estate Shiraz balancing restraint and power. Blackcurrant pastille, raspberry licorice, a hint of tobacco, spice and a redcurrant lift on the nose. The palate has a generous black fruit core supported by an abundance of fine grained tannins and acid line.
