tasting notes
blend: a blend of 80%
cabernet sauvignon and 20% cabernet franc.
colour: deep and vibrant red colour
nose: distinctly cabernet nose, showing cassis fruit, tobacco leaf and cigar box characters, backed by cedary French oak and subtle savoury notes
palate: a very structured and elegant wine which shows true cabernet characteristics. The cassis fruits come through on the front palate and the generosity continues the length of the wine. The mid palate shows chocolate and cigar box characters, thanks to 20 months maturation in French oak. The firm, yet balanced tannin structure provides a wonderful back bone to the wine and allows the flavours to linger in the mouth long after the wine has been swallowed
cellaring potential: enjoy now or over the next 10 years with any red meat dish
vintage conditions: harvest conditions were cool and dry, allowing for slow maturation and maximum flavour development
