Mount Avoca

Tasting Notes
Only two barrels of this highly prized wine were produced from the excellent 2008 vintage. Loved for its fine tannins and soft acidity, this complex and elegant Tempranillo delivers dried dark berry fruits, five spice and savoury, nutty oak characters. The suggestion of mint on the nose and a fresh crisp palate reflect the wine’s cool Pyrenees origins.
Winemaking
The fruit was crushed to small open fermenters with manual plunging during 10 days on skins. The fermenting new wine went to one year old oak to complete fermentation and MLF where it gained further complexity and richness.
