A Taste of Italy - The Wrap

Thanks to all who made the WineSeek Taste of Italy a wonderful event on Wednesday 17 September.
The dignified old Clarendon Terrace was graced with an elegant trio of Italians in Francesco Giansante from Citra Vini, Paolo Oliviero from Valdo Spumante and Elena Zeni from Zeni Vini showing us their range of remarkable wines. We were also honoured to have the services of home grown Italian wine expert, Ken John from Basile Imports.
The highlights of the evening were the Valdo Prosecco and the Citra Pecorino white (@ $14 a bottle incredible value!). The Sarradenari Nebbiolo Langhe was outstanding, as was the Zeni Cruino, and the Sarradenari Barolo was simply sublime.
Our Italian guests were remarkably relaxed at the end their gruelling Australian schedule and delighted the tasters with their knowledge, passion and friendliness. As ever, Ken John's inspiring knowledge of all things regarding verum in vino Italico attracted rapt attention.
Glenn and I would like to thank Elena, Paolo, Francesco and Ken for their time and skill in making the evening another memorable WineSeek tasting.
